Last updated: 31 July 2026

You can ask for your MouthCare account and the associated data to be deleted at any time, directly from the app or by writing to us. This page describes the steps to follow, the timeframes, as well as the data that is deleted and the data we are required to keep.

1. From the app or your account area

Patient (mobile app)

Open the MouthCare app, then Account → Settings → Delete my account. Deletion takes effect once confirmed, with no need to reinstall the app.

Practitioner (practitioner area)

Log in to your area, then Settings → Account → Delete account. You can cancel your subscription beforehand (Subscription section).

2. By email (remote request)

You can also request deletion without going through the app, by writing to contact@mouthcare.fr from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line “Account and data deletion”. We may ask you to confirm your identity in order to protect your account. The request is handled as quickly as possible and within 30 days at the latest.

3. Data deleted

When your account is deleted, the following is erased:

  • your account information (identity, email, phone number, login credentials);
  • your health data (photographs, reason for visit, questionnaire, analysis results, advice);
  • the history of your pre-consultations and of the exchanges linked to your account.

4. Data retained (legal obligations)

Some data may be kept on a limited basis where the law requires it, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, for example:

  • billing and accounting documents (for the applicable statutory retention period);
  • data strictly necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

This data is kept separate and is no longer used for any other purpose. Retention periods are set out in our privacy policy.

5. Other rights over your data

Separately from deletion, you have rights of access, rectification, objection, restriction and portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. These rights, and how to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority), are described in our privacy policy.
